Professional Development

Description: This position assists the VP of Professional Development in identifying content, event activities, and exercises to further strengthen our chapter members in the three PMI PDU categories: Ways of Working, Power Skills, and Business Acumen.

Description: Securing the necessary resources for chapter events, including featured speakers or event facilitators.

Finance

Financial Controls

Description: Audits the chapter's finances quarterly, reviewing expenditures and their associated documentation. Ensures accurate reporting of chapter income and expenses.

Description: Creates corporate invoices bimonthly for chapter events and updates StarChapter accordingly.

MEMBERSHIP

Membership Relations

Description: Promotion of the services of the chapter members to include an introduction for new members to the PMI Central Illinois Chapter and the continued involvement of our veteran members. Responsibilities will consist of recommending opportunities for member retention, growth, and engagement– including the purpose of the chapter, our short and long-term strategic goals, available resources, and volunteer opportunities for their ongoing professional development. Volunteer Management

Description: Maintains a current database of members interested in volunteering for the chapter and matches them with existing opportunities. Volunteer Social and Volunteer of the Year Program to be created.

Information Technology

Description: Ensures the chapter can seamlessly leverage technology to function and collaborate virtually and more efficiently.

Policies and Procedures

Description:  Documents and updated policies and procedure manuals utilized by the PMI CIC Board to assist in compliance with our approved By-Laws. New Board members will also reference procedures when onboarding.

Outreach

Military Outreach

Description: Mentor/guide active duty military, National Guard/Reserve, and veterans on how to leverage leadership and management skills as well as discover financial opportunity

Non-Profit Mentorship

Description: Mentor/guide non-profit organizations and work with other chapters to collect knowledge and patterns to benchmark.

Education Outreach

Description: Teach Youth Project Management Skills for Life so students can use the skills in their projects and introduce Project Management as a skill and profession. Professional Project Managers meet with College students pursuing Project Management as a career to answer questions about becoming a Project Manager.

Publicity & Sponsorship

Description:  Our core purpose is to support all chapter initiatives and events through various means, which include the following:

  • Support a sense of community for PMI-CIC members and guests
  • Ensure and support brand consistency across social media, email communication, website content, and chapter events
  • Inform PMI-CIC members and guests about chapter events
  • Curate and design all advertising materials for chapter events
  • Create and maintain the chapter e-newsletter
  • Catalog and leverage all photos and video recordings at monthly chapter events, classes, and Personal Development Days for publicity/communication needs
  • Identify and evaluate promotional channels (local newspapers, chapter website, local corporations, and via social media) to promote chapter meetings/events
  • .Organize events that are aligned with the PMI Triangle to support the goals of the office and the chapter as a whole
  • .Evaluate chapter opportunities that could benefit from sponsor/partnership relations
  • .Identify, research, and evaluate potential sponsors/partners
  • Create and maintain the sponsorship packages available to sponsors/partners
  • Sponsor/partnership management and retention
  • Recruit volunteers for the office and the chapter as a whole
